Curly Hair Bundle Care Routine | VB Raw Hair

How to Care for Curly Hair Bundles: The Complete Wash-Day Routine

Curly human hair bundles need moisture, gentle detangling and protection to maintain their natural curl pattern. Without the correct care, curly extensions can become dry, tangled or difficult to manage.

This step-by-step curly hair bundle routine explains how to wash, condition, detangle, style and protect your VB Raw Hair curly bundles while installed.

Recommended Products for Curly Hair Bundles

The product names below match the products shown in our care-guide image:

These are our recommended products, but you may use suitable alternatives formulated for curly hair.

Step 1: Detangle Before Washing

Before washing, divide the hair into small, manageable sections. Begin at the back of your head and work through one section at a time.

Using a Denman D3 Original Styler, gently detangle from the ends of the hair and slowly work upwards towards the roots.

Hold the hair above the section you are brushing to reduce tension on the bundles and prevent unnecessary breakage or shedding.

Never pull the brush from the roots straight through to the ends. Do not attempt to detangle the entire head at once.

Step 2: Shampoo Your Curly Bundles

Wet the hair thoroughly using lukewarm water.

Apply a small amount of Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly Wash Shampoo. Gently cleanse the scalp and allow the shampoo to run down through the bundles.

Wash the hair using a downward motion. Avoid rubbing, twisting or bunching the curls together, as this can create knots and tangles.

Rinse thoroughly until all shampoo has been removed.

Step 3: Apply Conditioner

Apply Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly Care De-Frizz Conditioner throughout the lengths and ends of the hair.

Divide the hair into sections and gently detangle while the conditioner is still applied. Begin at the ends and gradually work upwards.

Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Step 4: Deep Condition Every 1–2 Weeks

Curly hair requires regular moisture. Deep condition your curly bundles every one to two weeks using the Garnier Method For Curls Mask.

Apply the mask generously through the lengths and ends, avoiding excessive product around the bonds, tapes or wefts.

Leave the mask on for approximately five minutes, or follow the directions printed on the product packaging. Rinse thoroughly.

Regular deep conditioning helps keep curly human hair bundles feeling soft, hydrated and easier to manage.

Step 5: Apply Your Curl Cream

Styling products should be applied while the hair is still wet.

Separate the hair into small sections and apply a small amount of SKALA Expert #Mais Cachos Hair Treatment Cream 2-in-1.

Distribute the cream evenly through each section, concentrating on the lengths and ends. Avoid applying too much product, as heavy build-up can weigh down the curls and make the texture appear looser.

Step 6: Apply the Scrunching Jelly

After applying the curl cream, add a small amount of Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly Scrunching Jelly to each section.

Gently scrunch the hair upwards towards the roots to encourage curl definition. Continue section by section until the product has been distributed throughout the hair.

Do not brush the hair again once the curls have been styled.

Step 7: Air-Dry or Diffuse

Allow your curly bundles to air-dry whenever possible. Avoid touching the curls repeatedly while they are drying, as this can cause frizz and disturb the curl pattern.

You can also use a hairdryer with a diffuser attachment on a low-heat and low-speed setting.

Never sleep with wet or damp extensions. Going to bed with wet hair can cause matting and severe tangling. Strong wind can also tangle wet curly hair, so allow it to dry before going outside whenever possible.

Step 8: Detangle Daily

Curly hair naturally tangles more easily than straight hair, so gentle daily maintenance is important.

Separate the hair into small sections and lightly mist it with water or a suitable detangling spray if required. Using your Denman brush, begin at the ends and carefully work upwards.

Do not brush the hair aggressively. Always hold above the section you are detangling to prevent pulling on the installation.

Step 9: Protect Your Curly Bundles at Night

Before going to bed, make sure the hair is completely dry and gently detangled.

Place all of the hair inside a satin bonnet every night. Satin helps reduce friction while you sleep, protecting the curls from dryness, frizz, matting and tangling.

Do not sleep with the hair loose, wet or trapped underneath your body.

Additional Curly Hair Bundle Care Tips

  • Treat your extensions with the same care you would give your natural hair.
  • Detangle gently in small sections every day.
  • Avoid excessive heat styling.
  • Always apply heat protection before using heated tools.
  • Do not overload the hair with oils, creams or gels.
  • Keep heavy products away from tapes, bonds and wefts.
  • Wash the hair when product build-up becomes noticeable.
  • Clean your Denman brush regularly.
  • Always wear a satin bonnet at night.
  • Make sure the hair is completely dry before sleeping.

Why Can Curly Bundles Look Different After Styling?

The appearance of curly hair bundles can change depending on the products and styling techniques used.

Applying heavier creams or too much product can weigh down the curl pattern and make the hair appear looser or more wavy. Using smaller amounts of lightweight curl products and scrunching the hair in sections will usually create more definition.

The curls may also appear tighter when wet and become fuller as they dry. This is completely normal for curly human hair.

How Often Should Curly Hair Bundles Be Washed?

Curly bundles should generally be washed every one to two weeks, depending on product build-up, your lifestyle and how often the hair is styled.

Washing too frequently can make the hair feel dry, while waiting too long may cause product build-up and tangling. Focus on keeping the hair moisturised, clean and easy to detangle.

How Long Can Curly Human Hair Bundles Last?

The lifespan of curly human hair bundles depends on the quality of the hair, how often they are worn and how well they are maintained.

With regular conditioning, gentle detangling, correct drying and protection every night, premium VB Raw Hair curly bundles can remain beautiful and reusable for a long time.

Always remember: curly hair needs moisture, patience and gentle handling.
